Power Oasis
PowerOasis specialises in the supply of telco strength renewable power solutions for the wireless communications industry. Their range of Supervisory System Controllers (SSC) manage all aspects of renewable energy generation: integration, storage and load management. The controllers are based on proprietary software algorithms that maximise power transfer and storage through dynamically variable voltage set points for significant efficiency improvements. As part of its service PowerOasis also provides a comprehensive detailed planning capability from outline strategy through detailed design solutions to post installation support.
As telecoms operators expand their networks, powering base transceiver stations through connections to electricity grids can be impossible, prohibitively expensive or unreliable, especially in developing countries. In these situations, operators are often forced to rely on costly and unreliable diesel generators that are not environmentally friendly. The renewable power solutions by PowerOasis provide an alternative to these power sources that competes favourably on price, reliability, performance and environmental factors.
PowerOasis is currently working with a number of network operators who have shown a positive interest in renewable solutions for powering base transceiver stations and analysis indicates that there are now many thousands of sites worldwide where such a solution could be used.
